Irv Selman is the founder of Selman Insurance Services, a brokerage firm representing most of the major life insurance companies. He grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio and shortly after his discharge from active duty in the United States Army began his career in the life insurance business in 1968. In 1972 he moved to Chicago, Illinois to work in the marketing division of a major insurance company and in 1975 was transferred to Los Angeles, California.
His passion about making his community a better place to live is demonstrated by his involvement in many of the local non-profit organizations. He gives his time freely and is a past president of the San Fernando Rotary Club and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Woodland Hills Rotary Club. He is a past two term president of the Granada Hills Chamber of Commerce and currently an Ambassador of the West Valley Warner Center Chamber of Commerce. He is also a past president of the Northridge Little League where his three children played.
He takes great pride in counseling and educating people in areas of life insurance, annuities, long-term-care insurance, disability income insurance and in assisting seniors in selling their life insurance policies they no longer want, need or can afford through a life settlement. He has also been a notary public since 1994.
